Olivia Dreamt she was a fish and swam across the Atlantic ocean as she wanted to visit her Cousin in Boston
Two major dream surveys were completed one before Christmas 2019 and one over the first ten weeks of lockdown. The main difference between Children's favorite dreams over these two periods was that the top two categories of dreams were brand new.The pictured dream above is a combination of the top two COVID lockdown favorite dreams. The first being able to do things the Lockdown has stopped them from doing and in second place an explosion of random fantasy dreams.
Roberta is from Italy. She sent in her daugter's dream wish to be able to play with all her Kindergarten friends again.
The first three of our favorite dream wish drawings are all based on the #1 lockdown dreams with 12.5% of children wanting to dream about the things they had been deprived of in the previous three months. Carolina from Italy "My son dreams that this virus will disappear and everything will return to normal. It is now a recurring dream of every evening".
Tiliya is seven years old from Poissy in France. She likes to dream about having all her friends camping on her own ranch / farm
Missing friends, relatives and even school was the biggest change in what kids of all countries wanted to dream about when they went to sleep at night. Roisetta from Switzerland loves to dream about having all her cousins around for a barbeque. Going for long walks and going fishing with Grandad were some of the many things dreamt of by children between 2 and 12 years old.

Jane from England loves dreaming about a pet baby elephant that can talk to her in a language only she understands.Talking to animals was pushed down from number 2 pre Christmas (with 10% of the vote) to number 3 (but still with 7.2% keeping it as one of the favourite dreams of pre high school kids worldwide.
Paulina is 7 from Sunnyvale California. her best dream is to fly as a bird with the wind flowing through her feathers.
Beth from Port St Lucia, Florida has flying above the clouds as her best ever dream. Alex Brooke from England tells us he had a wonderful flying dream, then woke up, got out of bed and thought it was so real / magical he thought he would give flying a go again. "I did! and managed to fly round my whole house like superman. Everything was exactly like my house the night before. But I could fly. So cool. Was wonderful while it lasted then I finally woke up properly". This was one of the few dreams to climb several places from it's pre Christmas position of Number 7 (with 5.8%) to Number 4 today (with 7.1%). Many children mentioned flying as a way of getting to see those they cared about and were isolated from.
Amelia is the second of the English twins whose favorite dream of a magical World with chocolate and ice cream trees and lolipop flowers
Aurél from France loves to swim in a river of chocolate with a land of candy. Marta from Spain loves the dream where her cat starts to do the shopping but keeps getting it wrong and brings back sweets and chocolate instead of fruit and vegetables.

Lou-Rose's Mum is from the wonderful city of Porto in Portugal and is currently living in France, Linda from Italy says her daughter's favorite dream is running over the rainbow together with her pink unicorn and she saw everyone from above greeting her happy !!! In Nov/Dec 2019 this was the most popular child's dream (with 12.1% of the vote). The Covid related dreams seem mainly responsible for pushing it down to number 6 (under 6% of the vote today).
Marta from Spain's Favorite dream came in at number 7 which was visiting a natural paradise / Isolated / Unspoilt place (5.7%)
These exotic holidays took several forms but were always beautiful places often a paradise Island (where the children had never been). They excluded regular family holidays and Disneyland which were described differently.
Good Dream No. 8 is drawn for us by Isabella (nearly 10) from Rugely.
This is another type of dream which virtually did not feature before Christmas and yet helping or caring for animals came in with 3.6% of the vote during lockdown. It is certainly a fact that nature has got closer to us over the last three months ...maybe our children have moved closer to nature!
This is the second part of Isabella's dream where the British hedgehog (a small Porcupine) has recovered and is feeling the love
Martina from Italy says her favorite dream is living in a zoo and playing with the monkeys all day. Rescuing cats from trees and taking them to animal hospitals were other examples of this type of dream.
Dreams involving meeting, playing with or becoming characters from Films / animation and cartoons were our biggest jumper from number 20 to number 9 during lockdown

Julia is also from Spain and has rencently started dreaming she was a fairy flying to all the houses she could blowing sprinkles on them to stop them getting poorley. Noémie from France has another example of dreams which cover three of these categories. She loves to dream about flying with a fairy on a ladybird to Paradise Island. So this type of dream is counted in thirds for the Fairies,Flying and Paradise Island categories. Verronica from Italy makes friends with fairies and they could help her control day and night.
Evie is 3 years old and loves to dream about her favorite super hero Spiderman
The most popular hero was Spiderman, followed by Batman then Superman. Sometimes as a superhero partner they would have a superpower, other times not, but would bravely help to catch bad guys anyway. One was approached by the Avengers who wanted her to be their leader “I always think it’s funny the “missions” she explains to me” said Mum. Super Hero dreams fell 8 places to number 11 during the Covid lock down.
Gabriella is from Italy. She dreams about being able to breathe and swim under water with her friends and all the exotic underwater wildlife

Cayson is 5 and from Dublin in the Republic of Ireland and visiting Disneyland is the subject of his favorite dream
Jessica from Spain also mentioned the Original Disneyland in Florida as the place she loves to dream about at night. Disney Land / Euro Disney was normally mentioned separately from perfect paradie or regular family holidays and was ranked number 13 with almost 3% of the vote across all countries.
Driving (mainly large rather than fast) motor vehicles was in exactly the same position as during the holiday season at number 14
In this top dream the children could often drive but their chariot of choice was often surprising. Kirsty's son is only two so she drew his dream wish of driving "Tractor Ted" under his guidance. Alfie (age 4) who is also from the UK wanted to dream about driving police cars to help people.
Scoring the winner for their local / national team was one of the few favourite dreams to gain more votes during lockdown than before it. Maybe the children are missing sport too?
On this Dream Wish Note Tomos, from Glamorgan in Wales, has just scored the world cup winner for the Welsh football / soccer team. This dream was ranked number 15 at the end of May (19 in the Month before Christmas) with 2% of the vote today (1.3% before Covid).
Playing with a video game character or becoming part of the game
Louise is one of the Health Service key workers from Derbyshire in the UK and she sent in this Dream Wish of her son's racing with "Sonic the Hedgehog". Others dreamt of being inside games like Minecraft or Wii. This was up four places from the pre Covid dream survey...not a surprise as many children have managed to spend even more time on video games during lockdown.
Rhu is a dream master craftsman here he has been able to go back in time and fetch a pet T-Rex to kill the Corona Virus so everyone can see each other again.
Sue Dudley from the USA also went back in time to find that Unicorns did actually exist (she bought one with her pot of gold). Going back in time was only mentioned once in the pre Covid favorite dream survey but was number 17 with almost 2% of the vote during lockdown.
Chasta from Salyersville Kentucky said her child's favorite dream was eating a giant hot fudge sundae. When children don't want to draw an adult can do it for them.
Before the lockdown almost all kids surveyed dreamt about chocolate or candy land. Other favorite foods such as Pizza, Mc Donalds, Rainbow Marshmellows and Ice Cream at a teddy bears picnic all became favorite dreams making it in at number 18 during the lockdown months.
Claire G from Lisburn in Northern Ireland sent us her little sisters dream about being a flying Princess holding court on the clouds.
Hannah from the USA loved having her own castle and dressing like Sofia The First. Being a Princess dropped ten places to number 19 in the lockdown favorite dream survey although it still managed 1.7% of the overall vote.
We love Lyndz daughter's dream wish where she is teaching her teachers. The rainbow colours also give a big indication that lockdown had some involvement in this wonderful dream
The main change during lockdown was that becoming a Nurse, Doctor or Chemist mentioned extensively (almost not mentioned at all before Christmas). One boys nice dream was that he grows up to become a Zoo Keeper feeding the baby monkeys and looking after Giraffes and Gorillas
This is Sterling (Age 4) showing us a dream about playing with large reptiles. Here he is trying to get water to the croc whist collecting as many duckies on the way as possible.
Before the holiday period these big reptile dreams often were riding on the back of friendly dinosaurs through a magical forest or Jurassic Park type of landscape. T rex was the most popular dinosaur/ reptile in these dreams and they are often reported to be wearing a crown. One dreamed of being a dinosaur vet who prevented extinction. Dinosaur / Big reptile dreams where the biggest faller from number 5 to number 21....no idea why lockdown would have affected this!
Owning your own theme park (with or without a chocolate castle) was the number 22 favorite world wide kids dream
Patti from Savannah Georgia sent in this dream when her daughters ball rolls under a counter she finds a chocolate and candy Willy Wonka inspired park. Lorella from Italy say "My most interesting dream was to go to a carnival. I was excited because there was my favorite carousel. When I got there, she left and kept going without stopping. I had so much fun that I hoped I would never wake up".
Toy world is one of the least surprising dreams in this list.Owning your own toy shop (or being locked inside one all night) are all variations on this theme.
alifornia tells us about this dream."I woke up surrounded by every toy and game I had ever owned, the entire house was filled with toys. I walked to our back patio space and peered out the sliding glass doors only to see more toys." Before Christmas this had 3.1% of the kids vote, almost six months later this has more than halved to 1.4% (repeated exposure to toy shops during the holiday season almost certainly explains this significant difference).
Ethan (age 6) from Yorkshire in the UK love to dream about his yearly family visit to Cornwall eating giant Pizzas on the beach.
The regular family holiday beside the beach does feature at number 24 (with 1.4% of the vote) and it is surprising that it is not further up the list (especially as so many of the vacations planned for the first half of this Summer) have had to be cancelled.
Elisa is from Palma de Mallorca one of the Baleraic Islands. Here she has drawn her favorite dream is to find the end of the rainbow.
This was number 25 in our World wide kids dream list and was the last theme to have over 1% (with 1.2% of all dreams being based around rainbows). Rainbow colours did however feature in many of the dreams on this list.
The next three subjects are typical of the determination in the dreams many children have to be rid of this Corona Virus
Charlie from the UK dreams of launching Covid in a rocket to a place outside our Solar System never to return.
Claudia has nightmares about Covid 19 ad here she is drawing her dream of being able to play soft ball with all her friends
We sent Claudia a Pinkie dream pillow which will help replace her bad dreams with good ones https://www.sleepmastereurope.com/good-dreams-comp It doesn't matter if your drawing is not the best...it is the act of pushing out the bad and replacing it with positivity. Before the Covid outbreak many nightmares seemed to be caused by bullies. Ella from England dreamt she was a rain cloud that could see all bullies from above and rain on them to keep them away from the nice children.
Another "Dream Master" from Plymouth shows how "Mr Soap" first of all arrests Covid....
The brilliant of a child's mind produces fascinating dreams most of us cease to have as we enter our teenage years. This same creativity can be the reason why so many children between the ages of 2 and 12 suffer so much with Nightmares or night terrors. Fortunately their is a wonderfully simple solution.
In the second part of this dream "Mr Soap" has covid locked up (or down)
Image Rehearsal Therapy is used throughout the world to counter act nightmares / night terrors. Explained in straight forward terms here https://www.sleepmastereurope.com/good-dreams-comp Send your children on a night time journey to a place even better than the pre lockdown World.
